Who is on the cover of Madden 23?

As with all sports games, being the cover athlete is a highly coveted position. Madden in previous years had fans vote to decide the cover athlete, but decided to scrap the format after former Brown fullback Peyton Ellis beat superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Since then, the Madden franchise has opted to cast its own cover athletes, which has resulted in a bit of obsolescence, as quarterbacks Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes have featured in three of the past five episodes. This year is different, however, as EA has told fans, the coverage will be a bit different from previous years.

Hall of Fame coach and broadcaster John Madden will make his triumphant return to the cover of his eponymous game for the first time in over 20 years. EA made the announcement on June 1 or “Madden Day”, which is the anniversary of the original launch of the football franchise.

This will be John Madden’s first cover appearance since Madden 2000, and this year’s cover is a tribute and celebration of the late coach who died in December 2021. John Madden will be on the cover of the standard version of the game. All Madden Edition.
