The Indian team is currently in Australia for the ICC T20 World Cup which kicks off on October 22. As the team prepares for the prestigious tournament, ace batsman Virat Kohli has shared a photo from the team’s intensive group conditioning session in Perth. On Sunday, Kohli posted a photo of himself and other team members during a training session on his official Twitter account. Kohli can be seen performing exercises alongside KL Rahul and others. Kohli has always emphasized the importance of preparation and taking the lead in maintaining physical fitness. In his caption, the former India skipper admitted that he enjoys the training process ahead of big tournaments. “Love the prep phase,” the caption read.

The Indian contingent arrived in Australia early to acclimatize to the conditions. The players had their first training session at the WACA in Perth on Friday October 7th.

India will continue training in Perth until October 13 and will also play a practice match against Western Australia. The team will then travel to Brisbane for their official warm-up matches against New Zealand and hosts Australia before the start of the competition.

After going through a tough time with the bat, Virat Kohli has found form in the Asian Cup in the United Arab Emirates. He amassed 276 points in five games with an astonishing average of 92.2, including a first ton of T20I against Afghanistan. Kohli also made crucial contributions during India’s T20I series against South Africa and Australia at home.

King Kohli is the mainstay of India’s batting unit for the T20 World Cup Down Under. His vast experience and ability to come alive in big moments will prove vital for India. Kohli has a good T20I record in Australia as he scored 790 runs at an average of 52.9 while breaking eight half-centuries. He hopes to cap off the tournament with another scintillating Kohli special and lead India to an ICC trophy after a long hiatus.

The team led by Rohit Sharma are heading to the World Cup after a long preparation. The Indian team has played T20Is in England, West Indies, Ireland and the United Arab Emirates. They also played two home series against Australia and South Africa.

India will feature in Group 2 of the ICC tournament alongside arch-rivals Pakistan, Bangladesh, South Africa and two qualifying nations. On October 23, they will play their tournament opener against Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
