As part of the Ministry of Railways’ new strategy, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) will launch its first Bharat Gaurav tourist train. On June 21, the train will make its first trip. This train will take the Ramayana circuit, which is part of the “Swadesh Darshan” plan and includes major places related to the life of Lord Shri Rama. This trip will include a train ride to the Ram Janaki Temple in Janakpur, Nepal for the first time in its history.
According to the guide, the 18-day tour will start from Delhi’s Safdarjung railway station on June 21 on the Bharat Gaurav AC tourist train. The train, with 10 third class AC carriages, can accommodate a total of around 600 tourists and has a well-equipped pantry to prepare freshly prepared vegetarian meals for tourists.
An infotainment system, CCTV camera and security guard services will also be available on board. Bharat Gaurav tourist train is the initiative of the Union Government “Dekho Apna Desh” to promote domestic tourism.

A range of prices starting from Rs 62,370/- per person all inclusive, IRCTC also offers a 10% discount for the first 100 bookings as special promotions.
IRCTC has also partnered with payment gateways Paytm and Razorpay to provide EMI payment options to customers. Government and PSU employees can enjoy LTC facilities on this tour as per their eligibility based on the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Finance. The proposed Bharat Gaurav tourist train tour has its first stop at Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Rama, where tourists will visit Shri Ram Janmbhumi Temple and Hanuman Temple as well as Bharat Mandir at Nandigram. The train will cover a distance of about 8000 km during this entire Ramayana tour.
In addition to this, IRCTC will also provide a safety kit to all tourists containing a face mask, gloves and hand sanitizer. Temperature screening of all tourists and staff, frequent disinfection of trains at stopping stations, etc. and other precautions will be provided. COVID-19 vaccination is mandatory for all guests over 18 years old.
