Get ready to rock, music fans!

Longtime drummer Matt Sorum has announced the long-awaited debut album from his supergroup project Kings of Chaos, which features a reunited lineup of Velvet Revolver for new single “Judgement Day.”

Along with Guns N’ Roses members Slash and Duff McKagan, Sorum co-wrote the new single. Dave Kushner also participated in the new work. All played together in the group Velvet Revolver in the mid-2000s. The hard rock band was led by the late vocalist Scott Weiland.

The new single is a flash in the bloodstream, with a quick lead from Slash and Kushner. Sorum sings with a punk touch. It also hints at a new album, which is set to hit digital platforms in the fall or winter of next year via AFM Records. According to a press release, it will feature “collaborations with some of the biggest names in rock, including some of today’s most talented and iconic female artists.”

The band also released an accompanying music video for the song (see below), which features ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons. In it, Sorum pays homage to the 1971 film, Vanishing Point.

“Based on the 1971 film Vanishing Point transformed with images inspired by Born killers, director Brian Cox and I conceptualized a man fleeing his demons in a mad dash to find redemption guided by Reverend Willy G (played by ZZ Top’s Billy F. Gibbons), an angel (played by fashion designer, choreographer and wife of Matt Ace Harper) on a motorcycle, and his inner child. A lost traveler in search of light,” Sorum explained in the press release.

Until now, Kings of Chaos only existed as a touring band with a rotating cast including Steven Tyler, Billy Idol, Ann Wilson, Corey Taylor, Chester Bennington, and more.

Sorum added in a press release: “Kings of Chaos, to me, is the reason I started playing music in the first place – for pure fun. I’m very happy to be associated with the AFM team and working with them on the creative vision for the album was a great experience.

He continued, “It’s a party with the artists on your bucket list that you’ve always wanted to play with.”
