Get used to: Moneskin are officially headlining events alongside BTS, Coldplay and Camila Cabello. On Saturday evening, the winners of Eurovision 2021 performed at Citizen of the World Live – the massive concert that took place in Lagos, New York, Rio de Janeiro, Los Angeles, London, Mumbai and Sydney. MÃ¥neskin joined the Parisian scene, which also hosted Doja Cat and Ed Sheeran, among others.

The Citizen of the World movement says it seeks to bring together 100 million “global citizens who are taking action to help achieve our vision to end extreme poverty by 2030”. People who donate to charities, sign petitions and watch videos on its website earn tickets to the massive festival, which is also broadcast live around the world.

This year’s music festival was a call to action to end extreme poverty ahead of the gathering of wealthy G20 nations in October and the UN climate conference COP26 in November.

MÃ¥neskin at Global Citizen Live in Paris

MÃ¥neskin – who has topped the charts across Europe and even reached the Top 30 in the US – wants to use his new platform for good.

Writing on Instagram, they expressed how touched they were to be included on the bill: “Happy to be a part of this meaningful event and to use our privilege to take action.”

And they did it in fierce pink performance clothing. In our audience clip above, Thomas can be seen wearing a pink blazer – open, naturally – while Damiano and Victoria appear to be wearing the pink and black fringed jackets from their recent Gucci Aria campaign. Apparently the articles just weren’t for publicity, but for the long haul. It’s a nod to the sustainability that aligns with Global Citizen’s values.

They delivered their Eurovision winner “Zitti e buoni”, “For Your Love” and their Wiwi Jam hit “I Wanna Be Your Slave”.

Among the audience favorites was their 2017 cover of “Beggin ‘”, which British viewers will have had in mind. Moments before the band sang it in Paris, Olympic swimming champion Adam Peaty was dancing to it (or rather MÃ¥neskin’s arrangement performed by a live band) on the BBC show. Come dance strictly.

Another highlight came when Damiano covered “Bury a Friend” by Billie Eilish. Before starting the a cappella number, he looked at the camera and said, “Hey Billie. I know you’re in LA, but this is for you.

He also made a heart with his hands.
